托福口語Task 5叫問題 / 解決方案題。與Task 3相同,Task 5也涉及校園場景,不同之處在于第五題不涉及閱讀。簡而言之,Task 5包含兩個步驟:
1. 聽一段關于校園場景的小對話(持續(xù)60-90秒)
2. 根據(jù)聽到的內(nèi)容回答問題。
具體來說,對話中有兩個人討論一個問題與兩個可能的解決方案。問題一般涉及其中一個人,有時涉及兩個人。聽完對話以后,考生必須簡要描述對話中討論的問題并就問題的兩個解決方案發(fā)表看法。回答的準備時間是20秒,正式回答時間是60秒。
準備階段
Task 5的準備階段有兩項任務:做筆記與分析問題。做筆記的工作主要在聽對話時完成,要抓住重點:
1. 對話中所討論的問題(通常是一個兩難處境)
2. 針對問題所提供的兩個解決方案
此外,在20秒的準備時間里,從兩個解決方案中選擇一個,并列出選擇這一方案的兩條理由。
分析問題主要是弄清問題涉及誰,誰提出解決方案。這一點可以借助筆記完成。至于提綱,也無需另列,可以根據(jù)筆記回答問題。

Woman: By the way, Frank, I heard you got some research position with Professor Davis.
Man: Aha, but I’ve got a problem.
Women: Oh?
Man: Yeah. Well, since I didn’t hear from her for so long, I assumed I didn’t get the position, so I didn’t apply for a dorm room for the summer. I’m afraid it’s too late for that now.
Woman: Yeah, the deadline for the campus housing applications has already passed. So what you gonna do now.
Man: Well, I can stay with my parents. They live 2 hours from here, so I thought I could drive and commute to campus every day. I know my mom and dad will be happy to have me over for a few weeks, and most of my old friends will be home for the summer, so in a way it’ll be fun.
Woman: Yeah, I understand. But you spend quite a bit of time on the road, doing back and forth. Won’t you get tired?
Man: Yeah, that thought did cross my mind. The other thing I can do is to rent an apartment off campus. Besides being much closer to the work, I’d also save tons of money and gas.
Woman: Aha, but then you have to pay rent.
Man: I know, there’s always something, isn’t there?

正式回答
回答Task 5時,應該注意以下幾點:
1. 清楚陳述問題與兩個解決方案(這是Task5的核心);
2. 選擇容易提供支持的解決方案(解決方案無對錯之分);
3. 盡可能參考自己記錄的對話筆記(可以回答完整準確);
4. 使用過渡詞區(qū)分答案的三部分;問題與兩個解決方案、自己選擇的方案、自己做出此選擇的理由(如果區(qū)分不清,容易讓評分老師誤判);
5. 在表示建議的動詞后的賓語從句中用虛擬語氣(即動詞原形);
6. 直接對麥克風進行清楚的表達(一開始就調好麥克風的位置與音量);
7. 語速適中,不要太快或太慢(要表達清楚,不要求快---快不是流利的標志);
8. 注意發(fā)音與語調(不要過于擔心自己的口音,但要口齒清楚);
9. 使用熟悉的詞匯與結構(過于復雜的詞匯與結構對考生與評分老師都是挑戰(zhàn))
通用模板
第五題的模板應該包含下列幾個方面:
1. 指出問題并描述問題
2. 靠前個解決方案以及對方的反應
3. 第二個解決方案以及對方的反應
4. 考生的建議與理由
模板一:
